Mind and Heart

The mind and heart are an odd thing

How they interact is a God known miracle

Within my heart you sit, a ball of memory

Silently suspended in dead centre

Comes a day, the mind wants to be free

The haunting of your memory is too much

The silent ball begins to pound away

From wall to wall in my crumbling heart

With each collision chipping me further

The brain needs to stop this pain

The only way it knows is to forget you

More it tries, the harder the pounding

To forget you means to remember

Each and every soul filling memory

To remove you from my brain’s priority

Impossible, just as it is to move on from you

Brain or Heart
