I want a man…
A man who respects me
Encourages what talent I have
Big or small
A man who knows me
To know what makes me laugh
And what makes me cry
A man who’s careful with his words
Conscious that he won’t hurt me
Soothing that he can heal me
A man who sacrifices for me
Equal or maybe a little less
Of what I sacrifice for him
A man who puts me first
My presence isn’t taken for granted
He values my love and me
A man who is thoughtful
Wants even the small things to count
Blesses me with surprises
A man who listens
Who believes my opinions matter
Holds the weight of my voice to heart
I want a King
Who needs
His Queen.
I want a man that’s not you
I did not see that last line coming.
